    I don't usually like foreign films with subtitles,because it's hard to follow the action and read. You miss so many key expressions and gestures. I did like this film, though. Didn't love it, but I liked it. The costumes are beautiful, sets are amazing, a place I would love to run away to. I have Indian friends, but have never been out of the American culture so, for me, this was an attempt to get out of my comfort zone and try to learn a little culture. It gave me some insight, but gave me more questions than answers. My friends had gone to India and brought back wives, a tradition that baffled me. They both adore their wives, but this movie makes me question this even more...is it common for people to just show up, become the love of your dreams, disappear, come back and whisk you off to places unknown....and is this ok? In my American mind, something about the storyline doesn't mesh. It has led me to want to read "White Nights", though.

    This movie isnt the greatest but it has heart. I really enjoyed it and reccomend it. The setting is also beautiful watch it its worth it

    This is beautifully made movie and I enjoyed the music and dancing as much as just looking at the backgrounds. It is also a movie that tells most of its story by the subtitles if you only know english...blink and you've missed something. A little english is combined here and there throughout the movie. The romantic story and friendship does have its heart breaking moments depending on what characters you like best. It is for that reason that I don't give it 5 stars as the ending while really romantic and perfect for one...broke my heart for others. I definitely think this movie is underated for the overall quality but even if you hate subtitles...the music tells its own story.
