This review is only for the first Volume. Light Yagami is student who seems bored with his life but all that changes when he comes across the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a Shinigami death god. Any name written in the book would face ultimate death, unless their death is specified. Light has deemed himself to be God of the new world by cleansing the world of its Criminals and vermin. L is a renowned detective who's been brought in to find out the cause of all the mysterious deaths, and bring those person(s) to justice. Its now a game of cat and mouse between the new harbinger of Justice & the worlds most renown detective. The show has great animation and a great storyline. I'm hooked, highly recommended.

This series is a wonderful play of mind games. Light is a very intelligent Japanese boy who finds a notebook with the power to kill anyone whose name is written in it. The story delves into the temptation that such a book would hold and the horrible effect it has on its owner. It also focuses on the battle between Light and "L" the genious detective who sets out to capture him. If you're a mystery fan, or you like a tase of the darker side of things, this series is not to be missed. Great characters, animation and drama and absolutely full of plot twists!

This is one of the best series I've seen probably since Berserk. When they made these episodes they really paid attention to detail. Everything is very well thought out. The plot is also very in depth and well laid out. When you are done watching this you will be left wanting more.
