Awesome footage of African wildlife. I have only seen the first disc so far but it has covered geographical regions of Africa (Plains, Deserts, Coasts, Mountains). About an hour long for each segment. Very informative. Not as visually stunning as Planet Earth but then this is older technology than what is being used today.
It still is visually stimulating though and you will learn about animals you have never even heard of. Great for educational purposes. Touches on topics such as the ecology and niches of each species, as well as what human influences have caused unnatural disturbances in the ecosystem.
I would recommend this to anyone who finds these type of nature documentaries fascinating. It is not as dry as some other documentaries I have seen, and I have seen A LOT. Also great for showing in a high school level biology or environmental sciences class. BBC has always been a reliable and qualitative source for information. 5 stars!!!
