Waking the Dead is such a great show, The details and complex character plots have sometimes caused us to watch an episode a second time. Trevor Eve is troubled, explosive and sexy at the same time - his employees respect, fear and loath him!. Sue Johnston is such a veteran -and wonderful actress. Holly Aird was the child star of the Flame Trees of Thika and is very intense as the forensic scientist. We are just finishing up series 5 - hope the next 4 seasons come to DVD soon !

Though the series could grow on you if you bite the bullet and watch a few episodes, it is definitely not one of the most outstanding cop shows that the BBC has produced. It pales in comparison to productions like George Gently, Luther or wire in the blood etc. It is a variation on the more interesting show "Old Tricks" by BBC. Maybe season 2 will be more interesting. This one was just OK; no more.
