I was very interested in watching a movie concerning the life of Vincent Van Gogh. I was not disappointed. Linus Roache gives a stellar performance as the troubled impressionist painter. We see his pained life through his eyes as he slowly spirals into the depths of mental illness. His only way of conveying his passion and feelings to others is through the genius of his art. His touching relationship with his brother Theo, who supported him most of his life, is brilliantly portrayed as well. An excellant movie about the life and times of this deeply misunderstood master painter.

We were researching Dutch artists for a trip to the Netherlands. This award-winning film from BBC is very helpful in trying to understand his work. His world was so unbelievable. Parents have the power to destroy their children and not even be aware of what it is that they have done.

didn't really watch more than 20 minutes-very disjointed and choppy-not my kind of movie. Too artsy-craftsy
