A desperate London couple attempts to come to terms with their insatiable addiction to human blood in writer/director Lawrence Pierce's action-packed hybrid addiction/vampire story. Ruby (Katia Winter) is an exotic dancer with a dark past, and her shady East-end outfit is determined to promote her to the rank of call girl. Vincent (Giles Anderson) is the bloodthirsty vampire who was seduced into the world of the undead by a back-alley siren. While at first Vincent struggles to resist his craving for blood, the overwhelming power of his addiction soon takes grip -- forcing him into the streets in search of sustenance. When Ruby and Vincent first met in a crowded London café, it seemed to be love at first sight, but then Vincent's craving kicked in. Now, despite having escaped Vincent, Ruby has begun to experience the first signs of transformation as well. Realizing that the only way to understand what is happening to her, Ruby reluctantly seeks out Vincent and together the pair attempts to break their addiction to human blood. The situation is soon complicated, however, when Ruby's former "owners" decide that they want their star attraction back and send a sadistic killer named Matt to retrieve her by any means necessary. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Night Junkies as stated by other reviewers is more along the lines of Interview with a vampire rather then Blade or Underworld. It's almost like someone had a realistic script about heroin addiction and they just changed all the scenes to vampires and blood instead of heroin and needles...of course I thought the outcome of this meshing of ideas was astounding! Maybe I had low expectations going in but this movie grabbed me by the throat and swung me around until my head almost popped off! ) Anyway I really enjoyed the film, it is very gritty and realistic (for a vampire movie). I will warn that the violence is often brutal, the language is hard and the sex and nudity are pretty much bordering on soft core porn...whether that makes you want to see it more or less is up to you. but for a low budget vampire film with a great premise and story and decent acting I recommend Night Junkies.

WOW .. this one was much better than I would have imagined by the title. Actually a well acted flick with a good story line. Can't wait for the OST on CD. Worth a watch.

I've been waiting for ages for this movie and was pleasantly surprised by how dark and dramatic it was in a genre that has become watered down and eaten up by Hollywood. Night Junkies is a vampire film without all the special effects like the Blade and Underworld movies but with more heart and seduction than both francises put together. The characters could have been a bit more developed and it's true, it is a bit slow and melodramatic in places but there was enough originality and twists to keep me gripped. Like Interview With A Vampire's darker, moodier, modern cousin.
