If you saw Step Up, Step Up 2 or Save The Last Dance and enjoyed it, you will definitely enjoy Make It Happen. Although the storyline will not score any points for originality, it does add a few new wrinkles to keep you intrigued. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, on the other hand, does score points for her performance. She brings a honesty and sassiness to the screen that makes you believe in her character even though her story may seem familiar. Also, she has that "girl next door" quality and some nice moves! The music has a fresh flavor to it as well. This is a perfect movie to sit back, tap your feet and enjoy...or jump up and dance along if you're brave enough!

I guess I was expecting something far better than this. I can't give it three stars--I was fast forwarding and not missing anything in the weak, predictable story line. Don't wait your time.

It is bad enough the 'dance movie' thing has been going on for the past few years, but then to add this mediocrity to the pile is terrible. As stated before, the story line isn't original, but we kinda all go for ride of: innocence, then some trial, and finally the success that comes through the fear of failure. Unfortunately, her dancing was so weak - especially having to endure another dancer that can not convincingly dance hip hop. It is obviously not her specialty, and the audience just isn't buying it.
