This is more than just a cartoon to myself and my son (3yrs). It is a wonderful adventure! If you can "suspend your disbelief" it inspires hours of imaginative play. And it is pretty safe for tots because the violence is minimal and they do not physically display "deaths".

Can't say enough about this series. The only shortcoming I see is that the main characters are all of Asian descent so some in the audience may not be able to relate on a visual or cultural basis (mostly visual). Character development is better than most non-animated drama series. Action sequences are highly engaging. Kids will love it. Adults will love it. For adults, I would like to especially highlight the "The Tale of Iroh" vignette which is part of "Tales of Ba Sing Se" episode in the Book2 Volume3. As a father, it never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

I did not even expect to find the cartoon series such interesting. I watch the whole dvd during the one evening and always waiting for a month (or even more) for the next episodes. If you did not see he "Avatar", start watching from the beginning and you will not be dissapointed. Enjoy.
