Hiding Victoria (2007)
Member Rating:
Given the choice between staying clean and getting a job or going to prison, a hardened and heavily tattooed felon goes to work for a wealthy Palm Beach septegenarian in director/co-writer Dan Chinander's tale of a most unlikely friendship. Victoria is all about attitude, and her Maori-like facial ink lets the world know that in no unconditional terms. Now forced to stand before a judge and plead for her freedom, the temperamental young rebel is forced to accept a position as a helpmate for Althea Jaffrey - an ageing woman whose elegantly refined image belies her open-minded belief system. Over the course of their time together, Victoria and Althea forge an unbreakable bond that finds the tough-as-nails twenty-something finally revealing the painful secrets of her dark past. On the surface these two may seem to share little in common, but they are kindred souls at heart and only through the power of Althea's forgiveness will young Victoria learn to break free from the binds of her past. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

It's a beautiful story of a young woman who finally finds forgiveness for herself and those around her in an unlikely situation as a live in companion/aide to an elderly woman. Victoria, who is bitter and angry from her mother's accidental death, was molested by her uncle as a teen. Althea, the elderly woman, is also hiding a secret. Together, Victoria and Althea bring healing to each other and themselves. It's a story with unexpected turns and wonderful story telling. Don't miss it!
