Teenagers from Outer Space (1959)
Member Rating:
This off-the-wall, low-budget sci-fi film was written, produced, directed, edited, photographed, and acted (one role) by Tom Graeff. The unlikely story concerns a spaceship that lands on Earth from somewhere a lot less accommodating. On board are the space aliens' grazing animals, the gorgons. These are huge, crab-like monsters that quickly balloon up to a gigantic size and then proceed to devour any humans in sight. Soon the space aliens are split between the loner who would rather forget the gorgons and just stay here, and his two evil opponents. The single good guy appears to be the only hope for saving the people of the earth from turning into a snack food. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

My dad forced me to watch this movie when I was 5 years old (in 1965). As a result I was scared to death of skeletons for the next 5 years. Watching it again at age 50 wasn't quite as terrifying. This movie is so campy that it's good. An enjoyable movie if you don't take it seriously, just don't let your 5 year old kid see it!

Classic 50's sci-fi. Ignore the bad effects or laugh at them, but you'll have fun. Pretend you're an 8-year-old watching the Saturday afternoon scary movie on your black and white TV, like I was when I first saw it! The weapons and the ending shocked me back then. Now it's hokey, but there are lots of insights into life and issues of the day. I sure enjoyed it! BTW, I wasn't surprised when I saw that this movie was drought to us by the say folks who gave us "Plan 9 From Outer Space".

Excellent black-and-white fun movie, with talented decent actors who apparently went nowhere. Exciting car race on country dirt roadways between a '55 Chevy and a '38 Dodge! Accurately portrayed, drab, no-fun existence in those days of the 1950s when monsters had names (this one, "Gorgon," is the silhouette of a crawfish) and the girls were true-blue to their chosen guys. No blood, no cussin', just hokey fun for the whole family!
