Who would have ever thought you'd see a bollywood version of "Days of Thunder"?
It follows a racing star though his implausible and unlikely climb though the racing ranks and includes a crew chief named Harry and the familiar drive though smoke on the racetrack confidence test much like Days of Thunder. However the nice bit with this film is that there is more depth to it. The second half of the film is the best as the hero struggles with his fall off the racing ladder and all that goes with such fall.
For those that are fans of racing films, the actual racing sequences are not that bad, if a little unrealistic, considering the low budget. Plenty of old stock chassis were destroyed for this film
Excellent Hindi rendition of the Oscar-nominated English movie 'Cinderella Man'. However, if you have seen Cinderella Man, donât be weary of watching another poorly executed copycat. The movie is set in NYC like the original but has been changed from a life of a boxer in the 1930's/Great Depression era to the life of an Indian in modern day NYC who aspires to become a NASCAR driver. The songs were well done and catchy, the casting was pretty good - all actors were believable and their characters gelled well too. It was overall very entertaining. However, I've live in the US and know what NASCAR is and I also understand the plight of Indians in the US in their 20s struggling to make it on their own without any family 'trying to get a piece of that American pie', so the movie was very appealing to me. I don't know how well this movie works with motherland Indian audiences who are used to the typical big Gujju/Punjabi joint family love stories. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy this movie.
