For those customer's who keep asking... This movie is the animated tale of the day that Superman dies. Don't worry too much, however, Superman does return to life after a bloody death (of course). The twist is that Superman is no longer a hero, but the big bad villan. This is an excellent twist on an old classic. This movie will be released in September of 2007.

I first have to say that I love almost anything that has to do with Superman. That being said I was very disappointed with this film. I was expecting a movie of the comic book. That is what I wanted. I didn't want another interpretation of it. I did appreciate the more adult level of violence that was portrayed in the film. I felt that it brought the action to a new level for the Warner Brothers animation group. However, the overall story did not give me any more than a bad episode of Superman: The Animated Series. I loved the direction they were going in Justice League (regular and Unlimited). I wish they had stuck to the comic book. Is there no one who will bring this great graphic novel to the screen?

Ok, so it's one thing to completely ruin a live action film. But to completely ruin an animated film that you can do basically whatever you want with is deplorable! If you have read The Death of Superman comic novels, I am sure you do not remember it the same as this animated film portrayed it. I was so excited to actually see Maxima in action and the rest of the JLA... but they did not even appear in the animation. There was so much more that could have been done with this film that they just let slip right through their fingers. If this is ANY indication of how they will be handling the rest of the projected DC Animated Films... then God help us all.
