I just saw the movie today. I have never played the video game, but I will say, the movie was enjoyable. Sort of a mash up of "Scorpion King", " The mummy" and "Indiana Jones" all wrapped into one. Lots of action, suspense, mystery, betrayal and even some romance. It kept me interested the entire time. Worth a watch and I will watch again for sure when it comes out on DVD.

If you like a lot of fight scenes, you'll love this movie. I thought there would be more romance.

If you are looking for a fun summer movie then you shouldn't be too disappointed. I however, went in with high expectations and was thoroughly disappointed. First of all Jake Gyllenhaal is an incredible miscast. I could not take him serious for one second. I think Gyllenhaal is a great actor however, this was not the part for him. The love story is cliched, superficial, and predictable. The movie goes from one senseless action scene to another. For every plot development we get about 4 fight scenes. Also, the dialogue is shallow and childish. Overall, it's what the three Pirates of the Caribbean movies would have been with out Johnny Depp. 5/10
