I'm glad that Crash and all the other kung fu marketers have run out of the first wave of "classic" hk films. Now they have to dig a bit deeper. From what I've read, this is one of the all-time classic wuxia flicks, and I can believe it. From the above-average acting to the complete bummer ending, this film is a cut above the rest. Seeing Jimmy Wang Yu fluctuate from hero to jerkwad and back, all the time slicing badidies AND hooking up with hot chicks, is always entertaining! If you're a fan of the genre, this isn't one to pass up. If you like Jacky Chan fart jokes or Jet Li celibacy, then maybe you should steer clear of The Sword.
