Mussolini: The Churchhill Conspiracies

Mussolini: The Churchhill Conspiracies ()
Member Rating:
A film consisting of two programs including "The Execution of Mussolini" and "The Mussolini-Churchill Secret Correspondence," Maria Luisa Forenza's eye-opening documentary details how Il Duce's clandestine negations with the British Prime Minister changed the course of World War II, and eventually brought about the Italian fascist dictator's demise. Though the history books claim that Mussolini and his mistress were gunned down by Italian partisans, Forenza interviews a man who claims that event was staged hours after the actual execution took place, and that Mussolini was in fact assassinated by two British secret service agents acting on director orders from the Prime Minister - who would subsequently conspire to cover up the truth about Il Duce's true fate. With the fascist state fast crumbling and partisans closing in on him, Mussolini was said to be carrying a briefcase containing proof that Churchill attempted to offer up non-British controlled French land in exchange for peace, and that the Prime Minster also attempted to form an alliance with Nazi Germany in order to form a common front against the Russians. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This film revealed suprising data about Churchill and Mussolini that I had not known...the documentation was well executed with the actual live spectators giving their accounts in the actual locations...well done..most people are unaware of the behind the scenes actions of their heroes in wartime..and when it does arrive so far in the future, interest has waned..so be it! a good film for for those interested in ingtrigue and detail! 3 stars!

A very interesting documentary. Of the five despicable leaders Churchill, Mussolini, Stalin, Hitler and Roosevelt, none of which were the least bit trustworthy, this film exposes the relationship between two of them, and the double cross as well. What a gang of monsters!

This was an eye opening film with well documented facts to show us the relationship between Mussolini and Churchill. It is well known that Churchill was a great admirer of Mussolini and this one shows the details of their relationship. I think the interviews of the people involved is what makes it most illuminating. Thumbs up.
