This is National Geographic, it's good. It may not be better, or more in-depth than the Walking With Dinosaurs series, but it's entertaining natural history, and though it sells out a bit, anthropomorphizing these prehistoric dolphins in the same way a certain penguin movie I love to hate did, it's National Geographic! so it still manages to be informative.

It's a bit childish, though the story is a little "raw" in that it's about hunters and being hunted. Our child loved this movie, but is very much into sea-life and sea monsters/creatures. Some of the larger beasts and hunt scenes may be frightening for very little children. As an adult, you'll likely be slightly bored. It's also a very short movie, so be forwarned that you only learn about maybe 5 different species and follow one short story through the prehistoric seas before it is all over.

This is excellent movie, and I haven't seen it in IMAX; however if you were expecting a Walking With Dinosaurs, When Dinosaurs Roamed American, or Walking with Prehistoric Beast experience you will be somewhat disappointed. Though the movie does go through the life of a single animal named Dolly, a Dolichorhyncops, as it goes from birth to death. The movie seems to brief as compared to Walking with Dinosaurs, but all in all a very good National Geographic movie.
