Mel (Vic Tayback) has put up with a lot from his overbearing mother Carrie (Martha Raye). But when Carrie demands that Mel get married and give her grandchildren, she has pushed the envelope too far. Going ballistic, Mel squirrels himself away in his apartment and binges on beer and pizza--refusing ever to set foot in the diner again.
