Divine Brown: The Million Dollar Hooker

Divine Brown: The Million Dollar Hooker ()
Member Rating:
Divine Brown was just another prostitute working the streets of Los Angeles until the night of June 27, 1995, when she was arrested with one of her clients. The customer in question was British film star Hugh Grant, and publicity over the arrest made Brown a celebrity overnight. Soon Brown was appearing on talk shows, making personal appearances, and starring in an adult film based on her exploits directed by Ron Jeremy. Money Banks and Gangsta Brown are two pimps who by their word represented Brown during her days as a streetwalker, and Divine Brown: The Million Dollar Hooker briefly examines their experiences with her and her brief fling with fame while primarily focusing on the changing shape of the pimp game. Money and Gangsta are two of a handful of high-profile pimps interviewed in the film, who talk about their lives and their work as they compare the "old school" methods they grew up with to the more aggressive "gangsta pimp" style, as well as what one man calls "the high tech, new wave pimpin'." ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
