Obsessed with death after losing his rock star older brother, a troubled sixteen year old is sent to a youth boot camp and haunted by the spirit of a former inmate who perished under mysterious circumstances in this atmospheric horror film from director Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs). David Forrester (Rocky Ullman) never thought that he would lose his brother at such a young age, but now the worst has happened. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the burden of guilt becomes too heavy for David to bear and his mind continually drifts to thoughts of death. Not knowing how to move beyond their own grief so that they can emotionally support their surviving child, David's misguided parents send him to an "Attitude Adjustment Camp for Troubled Youths" called Driftwood presided over by the cruel Captain Doug Kennedy (Diamond Dallas Page) and his sadistic young protégé Yates (Talan Torriero). Now confined to the same darkened hallways where a former inmate named Jonathan (Connor Ross) met his grisly demise some years back, David quickly realizes that his only hope for survival is to solve the mystery of Jonathan's death so that the tortured teen's soul can finally rest in peace. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

After being really annoyed it is taking FOREVER to get any new releases I was happy to finally receive one. I would be lying however, if I said this movie will go down in horror movie history as a great film. It was not horrible like some I have seen but it was also nothing special. I kind of got the feeling it was like an after school special with all of the offhand remarks toward Columbine. If you are in the mood for a mediocre horror film with very little gore and some surprsingly well known actors then rent this one.

Kid goes to a boot camp. Kid sees ghost of another kid that died there. Kid confronts the real killer. So goes "Driftwood," the story of a troubled kid, perhaps mis-understood because of his instability after the death of his brother, that gets sent to a tough boot camp instead of psychiatrist. There he meets a kind a doctor and a former wrestler intent on poor acting and abuse. The movie is mediocre, even though most of the actors are bad. Don't expect too much gore or horror. It's a subtle cliche ghost story. I wouldn't endorse it, but it may not be bad on a cold dark night with nothing going on. Although you could probably do better.

what were you other people watching? this was an amazing movie. The only thing that sucked was Talan from Laguna Beaches acting! This was not gorey you are right but that makes it even a better movie then if it were gorey. It was trying to tell a story and it did. I though the storyline was amazing. The acting was good besides mr. talan over there. The only think i did not like was all the references to columbine. I dont think that should have even come up. the movie wasnt even about anything like that. If you like a good movie with supernatural aspects you will enjoy this.
