Azumi 2 (2005)
Member Rating:
The effects of schizophrenia reverberate through three generations of educated Indian women when a woman is diagnosed with the psychotic disorder and those around her, including her westernized daughter, struggle to maintain normal lives. As Azumi 2 gets underway, remaining assassins Azumi and Nagara set out in pursuit of their final target - the notorious Masayuki Sanada. But Sanada is fully prepared for the confrontation; he's hired the dreaded Koga Ninja Clan to dispense with Azumi, and they won't stop until their mission has been completed. The Koga Ninja Clan aren't the only foes that Azumi has to worry about either, because Kiyomasa's failed retainer Kanbei is out for blood as well. With enemies closing in from all sides, things are beginning to look decidedly grim for the assassin forced to choose between love and duty. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

It's been awhile since I've seen the first Azumi, but if memory serves me correctly, the first one was a lot better than this one. Not that this was all that bad, but the 2 hour long movie just seemed to drag on even though there were a lot of fight scenes. Usually love movies like these, but would probably not recommend this one..

While there were definitely enough fight scenes, a lot of the dialog and shots in between were drawn out and lengthy. The movie overall was about half an hour too long and tended to have a feeling of just dragging on. I really enjoyed the first Azumi, but somewhere along the lines, that feeling of drama and depth were lost in this sequel.

I liked this movie more than the first one because it was a little less disturbing and had a lot more feeling. There were several action scenes and a few twists along the way. I honestly think the first movie was written for men and the second was written for women. It's worth checking out if you saw the first one or want something that isn't too serious but full of action.
