You actually get 2 movies on this DVD. The second is the original Jean-Luc Goddard film "Hail Mary", a modern take on the story of the Mary's virgin conception. But the story is confusing and overly artsy, including Goddard's trademark flashes of pointless title cards, and throwing in a parallel story about another girl, Eva, that only serves to mislead you to nowhere. The film is preceded by a short created by another director, focusing instead on the imaginative and vibrant young child Mary, dealing with the impending divorce of her parents. The short film was actually quite interesting. It whets your appetite for more, only to have Goddard thoroughly disappoint with an often pointless art film. Definitely one for the more artsy Goddard fans only.
