Synopsis of Murphy Brown: Murphy's Pony
The tone of this episode is established at the beginning, as the Vandellas' Heat Wave is heard over shots of a snow-blanketed Washington DC at Christmastime. Having no particular fondess for the holiday--in the past it's been an occasion for drinking, and she's through with that--Murphy (Candice Bergen) has decided to stay at home and avoid all Yuletide celebrations.
