    As a little kid, I liked watching this show because Captain Kirk was in it. I recently rented this from Blockbuster online and the show is still as good as I remembered. Love the old Dodge Monaco police cars. They don't make em like that anymore. Storys are typical for early eighties TV shows.

    "The name is T,J,Hooker,What the first name is to you is Sargernt" William Shatner started his life in Star Fleet in Star Treck. Then moved to a Sargent training in the Police force.Follow him,as he traines officers in the New York Police Force.And gets the crime of the roads.

    William Shatner will always be associated with Captain Kirk no matter how many other roles he is good at. I have to admit that this show does take a few liberties for dramatic effect, but I think this is one of the better ones, partially due to Mr. Shatner. Cops in the eighties had flaws, like humans and not cartoons. Cops on eighties tv used thier heads and their hearts to solve crimes. This is one cop show that I wouldn't cringe if my young son saw it.
