Napoleon

Napoleon ()
Member Rating:
Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769 to a poor family in Corsica as the nation was being swept by French troops. Ironically enough, the boy would grow to be France's savior, serving the Gallic cause in the French revolution, rising to the leadership of the nation's military, and audaciously taking control of France (as well as most of Europe), crafting an image for himself as a military genius. But Napoleon's skills were outweighed by his ego, and by 1815 his crushing defeat at the Battle of Waterloo spelled a premature end to a once glorious career. Napoleon is a documentary from PBS's Empires series which follows the rise and fall of this legendary leader through interviews with historians, period artwork, and dramatic re-creations. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
