"Gundam Wing" was the first Gundam series to be aired on Cartoon Network, and since then has enjoyed a cult sucess on both sides of the pacific. Mixing the outlandishness of the previous series, "G Gundam" with the military war story feel of the Universal Century Gundams, "Gundam Wing" isn't for everyone, and some Gundam fans might notice some plot points are retreads of previous Gundam storylines-most notably the character Zechs, who is nearly identical to Universal Century antagonist Char Anzable. Also the animation is not the best quality, re-using many action sequences and character movements. Then again, it's over a decade old and produced on a TV budget. Overall, it's best for those new to the whole Gundam franchise.
