An excellent exploration of the nature of the indigenous worldview (the "primal mind) as contrasted to the way of viewing life and art in Western culture. Highwater shows how modern artists have been influenced and inspired by Native art forms, and the resulting wellspring of interest in seeing the world in the more cohesive, balanced manner always known to primal cultures.
