Rookie of the Year is a light-hearted comedy about a 12-year-old baseball fan who, despite his love for the sport, can't play the game at all. During one Little League contest, he breaks his arm. After it heals, it miraculously becomes a super-human arm that can out-pitch any player in the major leagues. The boy joins the Chicago Cubs and helps lead them to the World Series. Though the plot is silly and contrived, it's a pleasant film that is ideal for young sports fans. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Movie Guide

I am 12 years and I found out that you will be laughing your socks off with this movie. There is only one inappropriate word in it and the rest is hilarious. You will be saying pitcher's got a big butt and you will be learning some old baseball tricks. I recommend it for any kid. This is one movie you do not need to miss. It will be a great family night movie for anybody. LOL!

I watched it because my friends are Cubs fans and kept quoting John Candy.... "You're wrong again, Ernie." This movie is total crap. The acting is awful, the lines are painful, and you end up not caring about anyone in the movie. I found myself often checking to see how much time was left.
