Well, seeing as how the two 'reviews' of this movie are not critques of the film but instead critiques of Blockbuster's mistakes; I would like to speak a bit about this film.
Malle's Lacomb, lucien is a nicely paced film about an adolescent male that just can't make a decision; or commit to anything. Interested in youthful activies and joining a group of any sorts. His decisions are never driven by conviction or passion, instead they are all voluntary and spur of the moment. After being shot-down to joining the Underground of French men against the growing Nazi power, he does the complete opposite and finds himself deep with the Nazi's, and is soon a member of the secret german police.
This is a good film that displays the apathy of adolescence, shot well and paced slowly but with numerous visual metaphors.
3 stars out of 5.
This REALLY irritates me! I've added a couple of movies that happen to be "multi-disk," and Blockbuster sends me the "Extras" disk with the interviews, the "Making of", extra scenes, etc. instead of the actual movie! Some people may be interested in this, and they should be able to request it specifically. But when I request a movie, I expect to get a movie! Not Candace Bergen talking about her ex-husband!
Blockbuster, please make these specific.
