Great series! We watch an episode each week and can hardly wait for the next DVD to arrive! Very well done, similar to a Jane Austen movie. I would rate it 5 stars.

OK admittedly the first episode was really lame, despite the budget and at times it fails to be terribly witty, but if you're a sucker for period drama, this has most of the elements including a big budget. Bear in mind it was made for television but who needs an excuse to watch Susan Hampshire in anything. (Monarch of the Glen, The Grande, Forsyte Saga)

The first set was better storywise. A good overall period drama..
