These are the first 5 episodes of the Zatoichi tv series. Plot wise, they're fairly similar to the usually Zatoichi affair- Ichi wanders into town, does some gambling and drinking, helps the common people against the Yakuza (with the occasional skilled Ronin as an adversary), and moves on. The first disc has 3 episodes - A Challenge of Chance, The Flower That Bloomed with the Lullaby, and A Memorial Day and the Bell of Life. Second disc has 2 episodes - The Kannon Statue That Was Tied, and The Heartless Man, Touched by Compassion. Each episode is around 50 minutes each. A Memorial Day and the Bell of Life is probably my favorite episode of the bunch. Recommended for fans of any of the Zatoichi movies.
