The movie involved plastic surgery- a bit wierd subject matter but great directing and extremely talented cast. I was very drawn into the movie and it had a good balance of humor and emotion- lots of laughter and tears. nancy

This film is character driven & if one were to analyze it, the plot details would never hold up under scrutiny. A young woman is so insecure, that even though her boyfriend loves her, believes that he cannot remain in love with her because she is not exciting enough. So she decides she must have plastic surgery in order to keep him interested. She decides to disappear, have the surgery, then reappear as a new woman & not tell him who she is. If the viewer is looking for any kind of realty, this would never fly. There is no explanation as to how this young woman can pay for surgery, keep an apartment, a car, etc. during her 6 month recovery before she can work again. But none of that matters to the viewer. The film is compelling from the moment she has a meltdown in the coffee shop when she catches the waitress flirting with her boyfriend. Strange, but truly a film I will never forget!

A truely strange movie. As other reviewers have noted, the mechanics of a young woman's decision to have enough plastic surgery that it will take 6 months to recover don't hold up to reality. But it was an interesting way of presenting a problem that is nearly unversal for young women; the desire to be more beautifil and the fear that one's body and face just aren't quite good enough. Very sad.
