Corporate executive Peter Harding (Howard Duff) makes it his mission in life to save his friend Philip Bartel (Dan Dailey) from financial ruin. Not content with this, Harding hopes to save the philandering Bartel's soul as well. Aware that Bartel is cheating on his wife, Beatrice (Jan Sterling), with a woman named Lorna (Bettye Ackerman), Harding schemes to woo Lorna away from his friend.
