Travel to the sacred temples, remote monasteries, and lively festivals of the Himalayan landscape with filmmaker John Bush in a cinematic pilgrimage into the heart of Tibetan Buddhist culture. All is not well in this central Asian region, however, and as Bush offers a compelling glimpse into a culture that has endured for centuries, his exploration of the Chinese efforts to destroy this ancient wisdom from within provides a poignant snapshot of a contemporary tragedy in the making. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Gorgeous visuals. Yungchen Lhamo on part of the soundtrack, and the ability to just run the program with music only and without narration. Smuggling footage out of Tibet must have been a real trick. It helps if you already know basics of Vajrayana thought and Tibetan Buddhism. It's clear that the film maker's heart lies here in Tibet - as an adopted spiritual home. And that's where this film shines. It feels like a pilgrimage,... is a pilgrimage, if only for a few hours. However, if one is looking for didactic material regarding Tibetan Buddhism, this is not the place to start... unless your heart is already opened.

I loved every minute of the film. I saw it twice and will rent it again... I want to make sure I saw every component. I was reminded after viewing Vaja Sky Over Tibet, that the Dali Lama will not likely set foot upon Tibet's soil before he passes. I appreciate the artistic venture of John Bush and Tenzin L. Choegyal.

It took me a few minutes to relax enough to enjoy the beauty and peace of it. That's why I'm going there in a week!
