He's a phenomenal guitarist. REALLY. You can't hear him play like this on his smooth jazz records; maybe on his recordings pre 1976. If only he'd put out a cd like this. Sad. He's a very complex bebop guitarist and sounds a lot like Charlie Parker!! Very complex harmonies at ripping tempos. I'm serious. George Benson is phenomenal, a bebop shredder! Oh, he also plays Danny Boy, with bagpipe lines, on a classical guitar; and a Chuck Berry tune. Still, I didn't learn much from the cd because he moves around so much. So 3 1/2 stars overall.
