Soprano Camilla Nylund, contralto Birgit Remmert, tenor Christian Elsner and bass René Pape performed Ludwig Van Beethoven's 1823 Missa Solemnis on November 4th and 5th, 2005, in an inaugural concert to celebrate the reopening of the Dresden Frauenkirche. Director Nele Münchmeyer filmed those performances live, and combines footage from both into the home video release Missa Solemnis, which features the entire concert from beginning to end.
