I rented this for my 6-month-old. I had expected it to be very musical. But it wasn't. The video showed many different musical instruments in the short 40-minute time frame. But they were mostly in words and not music. For example, the video shows the flute, plays a short clip of a flute, and says "Flute". Then it moves on to the next instrument. So there is a lot of talking and not much music. It felt like information overload. My daughter lost interest in the first 5 minutes. It is definitely not for young babies. The "special features" includes a game to "tell me which instrument it is when you hear it". I think that's way too hard, even for a bigger kid. I might try this with her again when she's bigger. But I just wanted to point out the fact that it's not suitable for young babies, so you don't get this too early for their age.

The age recommendation on the cover is for 12mths+. I agree, my 6 month old doesn't care for this one too much. I'm hoping she will when she's a little older.

My baby is 11 months old and loves this movie. It holds her interest for an amazingly long time, too, much longer than it probly should. But then again, she does love music. I think that you have to expose them to themes that fit their personalities. I bought an animals on the farm einstein that didn't hold her attention one second.
