The movie guide's description of this movie is completely inaccurate. It is NOT a drama - the father/son "plot" takes up about five minutes and is not set up, explained, or resolved. The movie is actually a kind of documentary about male prostitutes in China, and not a very interesting one at that. Maybe the director's point is that the sex trade is a place of tremendous boredom and ennui. If that was his aim, he succeeded admirably - his movie lulled me to sleep.
