This films shows how hard Filipinos work overseas to make ends meat for their families back home. I've always thought Claudine Barretto is a great actress and indeed, she nailed the character perfectly. Claudine's performance as an actor is on par with veteran actresses such as Maricel Soriano and Vilma Santos. In the future, I would like to see the cameras focus more on the actors face expressions. For the most part, it was quite difficult to see the actors expressions as they potray their characters. This is probably due to using only one camera or two per scenes unlike many Hollywood movies that uses multiple cameras to capture the various angles. If you like watching Filipino films, this is worth watching. However, some scenes were too long or could be omitted entirely. Basically, you don't have to make a long movie to get your point or message across and "Milan" is 135 minutes, which in my opinion, should have been reduced to 120 minutes.
Italy as the setting?? any movie that is set in one of the most romantic places in the world would look great even if the story is not..but Milan is a great one..i love the dialogues, not so typical Filipino lines...Good acting too!
