Town Hall Party was California's premier country music television showcase, and between 1952 and 1961 some of the biggest stars on the Nashville studios made their way to the West Coast for the show's Saturday night "barn dance." Town Hall Party: July 18, 1959 is compiled from surviving kinescopes of that evening's broadcast, and features a special guest appearance by George Jones, captured on-stage during his first flower of stardom.
