Sometimes in April (2005)
Member Rating:
When the Hutu nationalists raised arms against their Tutsi countrymen in the African nation of Rwanda in April of 1994, the violent uprising marked the beginning of one of the darkest times in African history. Over the course of the next 100 days, brother would turn against brother, tearing families apart and resulting in the death of almost 800,000 people. Based on actual events that occurred during the uprising, Raoul Peck's affecting war drama tells the tale of two such brothers, whose differing loyalties found them on opposing sides of the conflict, and whose lives would never be the same following this tragic turn of events. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I know the history of this story, and I own the movie "Hotel Rwanda" but each movie regarding this atrocity in history is emotionally draining; this one is no exception. Very well documented.

I had read numerous articles about what happened in Rhwanda but this movie made it much more real, probly because it was personalized. Terrific scenery and images without the gore, which would only have minimized what happened there. Very good movie for grownups & teenagers. Sometimes the accent makes it hard to understand what the characters are saying, however, sometimes the scenes don't need words.

I wished I had watched this one before Hotel Rwanda, it is a lot more informative. This movie makes Hotel Rwanda look like a Disney movie. Very haunting and goryThe acting was fantastic...can't praise this movie enough!!! WATCH THIS MOVIE
