We really liked this movie. It is not for the squeamish as there is some disturbing imagery and drama which is done effectively within the context of the story and not simply to be gratuitous. As others here have said, it is well acted. Travolta is in his element and his interplay with Gandolfini works wonderfully. For anyone who likes Law & Order or CSI, you will like this movie. It is Bonnie and Clyde meets Charlie Starkweather with other interesting twists thrown in. An outstanding drama but it is not a family movie.

Travolta's great performance in this movie makes it actually enjoyable. It is one heck of a story (based on true events of the 40s). Travolta plays a good cop (Elmer C. Robinson) with the ability to act on a hunch, which without he wouldn't have caught the bad guy. It starts out quite harmless but then develops into cruel and senseless murder cases, murder for petty cash. Not a movie I couldn't live without.

I would recommend this movie. I had a good story, and lots of twists and turns. It was out of the box for Salma, and John Travolta was excellent. I enjoyed this movie.
