This is my first exposure to this opera. This traditional production is well performed. The video has a faded, bleached quality. I don't know if that is deliberate or is simply a reflection of the its age. It does give the entire production an other world, dream like patina. Fortunately, I didn't find it a problem. This is an enjoyable production.
