Clay's remarkable voice and gentle spirit both shine through during several beautiful songs; and performances by Barry Manilow, Yolanda Adams and Meghan Mullally are good too. (Although Barry Manilow seems a little too full of himself!) I think the concept of this show was trying to imitate the Christmas shows of yesteryear, like Andy Williams' specials. My biggest criticism is that it all seems a little too contrived and too scripted, and a little too slow and "low key" in spots. I would rather have seen Clay Aiken in a more natural setting, showing off the amazing talent, energy and quick wit that I've come to expect and appreciate during his concerts. He's an amazing performer when allowed to relax and "be himself." In this Christmas Special, he doesn't seem relaxed, but he still looks and sounds great!

I'm a Clay Aiken fan, and this thing just flat out stunk. I remember watching it on TV and then being disappointed at how bad it turned out. This is one for the burial vault.
