Bill Hicks: Sane Man (1989)
Member Rating:
Although he had been deceased for over a decade when this video was released, Bill Hicks' reputation had grown to the point that he was considered by some in the same league with other legendary stand-ups like George Carlin. Sane Man, recorded at a show from 1989, presents the newly clean and sober Hicks delivering the pointed social commentary that made him a comedian's comedian. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

Way ahead of his time, these are essential performances by Hicks. At times he is in league with George Carlin & Richard Pryor. Really funny stuff. A tragic loss. The references to "Bush" are just as apprpriate now, as if he was talking about "W"

It's great to see Hicks get a little recognition, all be it a little late. His matterial is a bit dated in area's but most of it still stands oup today. Too bad more people didn't get exposed to him

this man is one of the greats of all time. it's too bad that he had to die at such a young age, cause the world could sure use his comedy right now. RIP.
