    From a Gaiam DVD, I expected this to be easy-to-follow. No, it wasn't. The instructor's movements were not the mirror image of what the viewer is supposed to do. He would move his right leg, and instinctually, I would move my left leg, but he would insist that I move my right. He did this with every move and every body part. It felt impossible for a beginner to learn.

    This video is little hard to follow if you have never did Tai Chi before. You will probly have to go threw it a couple of times before you get a handle on it. I do like that he does go over the forms a couple of times and then ties it in w/ the last one you just learned. The AM excercise I really enjoyed. It was very relaxing and helped open up my engery. So I would have to give this 3 stars. P.S If you are just begining and want to get the basics of Tai chi, I would recomend Scott Cole's dvds. It's alot easier to understand and fun to do, by yourself of w/ someone.

    firstly 2 reviews before this... one star and three stars.. and it gave the overall as 4 stars? Does blockbuster just add them up? Anyway, for my part... as someone that used to practice tai chi, taught by an international student, who couldn't speak English very well, but did a sterling job anyway. I found this to be a lot of pretentious self promotion. This guy isn't teaching tai chi chuan, it's a watered down version that is more akin to tooth fairyism. For those that are interested, a realy skilled practitioner will push you to hold the poses for as long as possible, it's physical conditioning, routines that help you clear your mind by focusing on the body. Tranquility is found by executing a sequence of low impact moves carefully, not self love in front of a mirror... Dorian! And I resent the headset microphone, you had to go for a 'look'... instead of using a normal boom mike like everyone else.
