Maybe somewhat slow at first but hang in there coz this is one movie you should see......

A VN vet still shellshocked 35 years after the fact; his niece having grown up with missionary parents in Africa, coming home to America after several years in Israel among the Israelis and the Palestinians and searching for her lost uncle; a homeless and hungry Arab man of no worldly importance; and other secondary characters who fill the spaces well. The writing was wonderful as was the photography. In his own way (Wenders has loved America for decades and especially the desolate and empty places of the west)Wenders offers up a sometimes harrowing, indescribably sad, tender film with redemption at the end. John Diehl and Michelle Williams are brilliant.

I guess that to see America clearly, it helps to be a German. Wim Wenders ain't Fritz Lang, but he ain't bad. Great flick !
