Member Rating:
In this documentary that seeks to reveal true meaning of the phrase "man's best friend," Emmy-award winning filmmaker Gayle Kirchenbaum explores the bond between woman and canine by taking her beloved thirteen-pound Shih Tzu Chelsea on a walk through the streets post-9/11 New York City - but this is no ordinary stroll through the city. By carefully attaching a camera to her four-legged friend, Kirchenbaum offers a unique perspective of the world as the pair attempt to brighten the spirits of the victim's families, and experience a little puppy love in the form of a friendly neighbor pup. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Gayle Kirschenbaum's documentary is a truly fresh take on life as a single woman in the city. Her love of her dog Chelsea takes her on a number of unexpected and very poignant journeys which ultimately help Gayle to better understand herself and the world around her. This is a must-see film for anyone who loves animals, people and figuring out how the two can better connect.

What a fun and moving film! This story is not only about the love between a woman named Gayle and her dog Chelsea, but about the love between many people and their pets. The story starts out as a simple funny adventure of Gayle and Chelsea's search for husbands in Manhattan. They run into all kinds of wacky people and their dogs along the way. After 9/11, the tone of the movie changes. The audience is able to witness Chelsea (the star shih tzu) as she brings comfort and love to people in her new role as a therapy dog. There are some especially moving scenes in a hospice care center where Gayle and Chelsea volunteer. I would definitely recommend this film.

Its been a long time since I've seen a movie or documentary that had felt like a COMPLETE waste of time; until this one. Dont bother. The gal needs to get a life and let her dog be a dog.
