Many countries are far more liberated and laid back in social mores then the United States. Germany is one of them and this is reflected in their contemporary motion pictures. 'Antares' is a realistic look of how total strangers lives can intersect and affect each other. Consummate acting and direction in a seemless narrative flow, there is graphic, hard core sex making the movie only suitable for enlightened adults. Wunderbar.

Not for children or light weights. Very real a bit over the top in some cases. Keeps you going right up to the end. The affect people have on the lives of others (strangers) without knowing it. Infidelity, domestic abuse, distrust weaves itself into this film causing a ripple effect.

The first thing that becomes apparent in this movie is that it is very artsy, and it's not ashamed to let you know it. Lots of long lingering shots of people not talking to each other and lots of sullen actors and actresses. Another factor to consider is the very explicit sexuality of this movie, which is not necessarily a problem, except for the fact that it seems to occur in a vacuum. The people having sex don't really seem to even like each other, but just show up, strip down, have sex, and then continue the sullen silence. I will be honest and admit that I did not finish the movie, so I cannot vouch for the entirety of the movie, but for the 45 minutes of my life that I did devote to this movie, never once was there really an explanation of why any of the characters were involved in the way they were, which is a little too long for any movie to start to get to the point in my opinion.
