Taboo: Season 01 (2002)

Taboo: Season 01 (2002)
Member Rating:
Season one of the National Geographic Channel documentary series Taboo is filled to the brim with eye-popping glimpses of "forbidden" and often illegal traditions, practices, rites, and rituals, filmed all over the world. This season's locales include Ethiopia, Borneo, Japan, Sarawak, Mexico, Bolivia, The Philippines, Zimbabwe, Greece, Vanuatu, and even Arizona. Though some of the images are frightening and even revolting, they are undeniably fascinating. Of the 13 episodes, three are narrated by actor David McCallum: "Bloodsports," "Evil Spirits" and "Tattoo." Novella Nelson handles the narration on the remaining episodes, which include "Drugs," "Healers," "Food," "Bloodsports," "Voodoo," "Marriage," "Witchcraft," "Sexuality," "Death," "Rites of Passage," and "Tests of Faith." ~ Rovi
