Bush Family Fortunes: The Best Democracy Money Can Buy (2004)
Member Rating:
Based on author and activist Greg Palast's book of the same name, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy takes a hard look at the role of business in the American justice system and alleges that many companies' motives are not only impure, but a detriment to society as a whole and a testament that the U.S. may not be as free a country as many believe. Among the companies profiled are Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, the Goliath drug company that Palast claims knowingly exported faulty drugs and medical equipment to third world countries, as well as DBT, which contributed largely to the infamous Florida felon's list that kept thousands of African-American voters away from the polls in the hotly contested state of Florida during the 2000 election. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

I tried writing this review several times and I can't seem to keep it short enough so i'm starting over. In short, here's this amazing family in Texas that strikes it rich in oil, makes friends in high places and basically buys and fandangles its way into America's government (probably very similarly to most political families) but this is different; here we have A) The Bush's B)a dead investigative reporter (un-naturally, alleged suicide of course, after seeing this you'll wonder how it didn't happen sooner) who leaves behind years of research and personal observations, even before George W. was a Governor. Also get a glimpse of how certain Assembly members, Ambassordors, etc. played key roles earlier on. Great documentary, very interesting - don't watch if you are in love with the Bush family (how does stuff like that happen - geesh).

This movie exposes the complete truths to the ignorances that Bush and his family has caused. Those who ignore these horrendous messages should be ashamed. Republican or democratic has nothing to do with the position. Everyone should see what Bush's family has caused, and if not take a look at our nations now $8,103,369,176,101.34 debt. Yes $8 trillion dollars, a drastic increase of the decreasing $5.6 trillion 5 years ago! Open your mind while watching this movie and see the TRUTH!
